Leadership - Who's who?

Who We Are

Bantry Christian Fellowship Church is a vibrant, caring church meeting in the heart of Bantry, a town of over 3000 people situated on the shores of beautiful Bantry Bay in West Cork. We are here to honour God the Father whose love and grace is the motivation behind what we do. We are here to point the way to Jesus His Son whose self-giving love on Calvary brought us to know God personally. We are ordinary people in whom the Spirit of God is alive. We want our lives together to show that God is here and that He cares.

We are a church where being a Christian on Monday is just as important as being a Christian on Sunday. We focus on what it means to be a real Christian where it counts… in the workplace, the office, and most importantly the home.

We are a church where everybody is somebody, where “welcome” is the not just a nice word to use at the door. God-given compassion and empathy towards one another commonly known as fellowship, is the hallmark of our coming together as a people of God.

We are a church where lives have been changed by Jesus’ message commonly called the Gospel. Talk to any of us and you will find this message is what moved us from despair to hope, darkness to light, and from doubt to faith. We love to speak out this message, because it is not just a path of which there are many, it is the way, or to put it more precisely He (Jesus) is the Way. It is the genuine evangel of the early church and it is what marks us as evangelical Christians.

Leadership - Who’s who?

Bantry Christian Fellowship Church believes that each member should have an input in the ministry and vision of the church. Everybody is encouraged to play a part in ministry, music, welcoming, teaching, serving and hospitality. A team of three elders are recognized to take the leadership role. They are  David Ross, Ger Reaney and Ivor Deane.  David works as a part time farmer and fulfils the role of pastor of BCFC. His wife Elizabeth works  at home where they have five children Mark, Esther, Abigail, Samuel and Joanna. Ger works with the Health Service, while his wife Carmel works part-time in the local school. They have two children, Elaine and Laura. Ivor is a full-time farmer, married to Alice who nurses part-time, and they have three children Michael, Peter and Anna.  Elizabeth, Carmel and Alice are also involved in pastoral, teaching and supportive  roles in the church.
